Are Online Training Courses a Reality for Leadership Development?

This question remains prevalent in the non-profit and even for-profit circles.  Is Online Training a reality?  Can Christian Seminars really occur online?  Especially in the church world where there tends to be a pull constantly back to traditional processes and methods, training others via the World Wide Web can seem quite ridiculous.

But there is an even greater question to ask.  Is real consistent quality training happening in any other way in your organization right now?  Beyond the once-a-year conference for your immediate staff/team, or your weekly sermons, are your volunteers experiencing any real training?  So, before we start criticizing a new and possibly innovative process, determine if anything else is working at this point anyways?

What is keeping leaders from really creating an organization that develops, trains, and empowers?  The answers tend to be quite consistent when researching leaders in all organizations:

·        Time

·        Money

·        Quality

·        Competing Priorities

So, if one would bounce Online Training Courses up against these general “brick walls” to truly developing followers, then it would become apparent that there must be some opportunity around developing leaders through interactive web conferencing or webinars.

Online training and eLearning classrooms can provide high quality, low cost, time-efficient training for your self, staff, or volunteers.  Online webinars bring a highly effective spin to your teams training.  Through direct-to-your-PC training, online webinars open up the possibilities of countless training sessions, appropriate for your entire leadership team, or maybe specific to your financial manager or even administrative assistant.  They drive down the cost and time of traveling to the nearest conference or spending tons of money on the latest consultant.  Webinars are also archivable, meaning they can be saved and utilized for future ongoing training over and over again, just with the utilization of a PC.

So before we question an “out-of-the-box” method, first determine if it overcomes your current hurtles to development and provides an efficient and effective means to getting to a more training focused organization.  Start training today... Leverage the Power of Customized Training Solutions!
